The "Mediterranean Day" project was an initiative organized in Elbasan, Albania in 28 November 2023 by the Youth Rights & Citizenship Initiative (YRCI) organization. It was carried out in cooperation with the Elbasan Municipality and the musical group Eda Co and Band, with support from the Anna Lindh Foundation. The specific activity held was titled "Sounds of Solidarity" and took place at the Riemar public Cultural Center. It featured a live musical performance that was also broadcasted. The goals of the event were to celebrate Mediterranean culture, promote solidarity and intercultural connections through music and arts. The project was granted by the Anna Lindh Foundation, as per the cooperation agreement signed between the parties. This project aimed to showcase the partnership between local Albanian organizations and European institutions like the Anna Lindh Foundation. It allowed musicians and communities to come together in the spirit of cooperation and cultural exchange. The successful event highlights the role of music and arts in bringing positive social impact, empathy and unity.
