Barbera d' Asti Casa Scarpa
Barbera d 'Asti Casa Scarpa
Monferrato is a historical region of Piedmont, whose territory is mainly hilly and particularly suited to viticulture. Right here, in the municipality of Nizza Monferrato, the Scarpa winery has been based since the mid-1800s.
They are practically the only ones to age in bottle wines such as barbera, ruchè, freisa, dolcetto and brachetto.
The grapes used for Casa Scarpa barbera come from vineyards located around the historic Poderi Bricchi estate founded in 1969, in this area thanks to the combination of a microclimate and an ideal soil, Barbera, the queen grape of Monferrato, gives us surprising wines. The plants are located at 400 meters above sea level, on different aspects and on white and light soils rich in limestone, the wine produced by these vineyards is vigorous but at the same time elegant and refined ending with a good part of the acidity typical of this grapes. A bottle to be enjoyed in good company!
